In the overall standings, the decision will go down to the wire between championship leader Larry ten Voorde and Harry King from England. The defending champion from the Netherlands lines up for the German team Proton Huber Competition and aims to farewell the German Carrera Cup with his fourth outright title. “Next year, I’m going to take a step back as an active racer and concentrate fully on my Driver Academy,” announced the 28-year-old.

Only Harry King can still throw a spanner in the works for Larry ten Voorde. The British racer from the Bavarian Allied-Racing squad heads to the final round with a 35-point deficit on ten Voorde. However, with four victories to his name, King has secured one win more than his Dutch rival. With up to 25 points awarded in each of the two races, King must finish at least ten points ahead of ten Voorde in Saturday’s race – only then can the 23-year-old enter the final race on Sunday with his title hopes intact.
Four drivers from the Netherlands still have a shot at the rookie title. Kas Haverkort (Uniserver by Team GP Elite) leads the standings among drivers new to the Carrera Cup. Robert de Haan (Team75 Bernhard) and Flynt Schuring (Team Proton Huber Competition) are within striking distance, eight and twelve points behind respectively. Senna van Soelen has an outsider chance of taking home the title, the driver from the Target Competition team lies 36 points behind Haverkort.
In the team standings, Proton Huber Competition with its two German drivers Alexander Tauscher and Sebastian Freymuth as well as Larry ten Voorde, are holding strong at the top of the table. The Dutch Uniserver by Team GP Elite trails by 44 points. A maximum of 90 points are still up for grabs in the team standings. In the ProAm category, the title duel between Sören Spreng (GP Elite) and Michael Essmann (CarTech Motorsport) enters its decisive round. Only six points separate the two seasoned specialists from Germany.

Finale features two ca. 30-minute sprints
The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland will compete at the Hockenheimring once again as part of the DTM. The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup contest a 30-minute race plus one lap on both Saturday and Sunday. The two Dutch GP Elite teammates Loek Hartog and Larry ten Voorde both finished on the top step of the podium at the 2023 season finale. Ten Voorde went on to secure the title.
Today’s Hockenheimring began operations in 1932 as a ca. 12-kilometre test track on forest trails. Renamed the Kurpfalzring six years later, the track was paved and shortened to around seven kilometres. The construction of a new motorway in the 1960s called for a new track layout, including the Motodrom, which is still in use today. In 1970, Formula 1 raced for the first time on the then 6.789-kilometre-long Hockenheimring. After several modifications, the so-called Ostkurve, a characteristic high-speed section, was decommissioned in the early 2000s and later restored to its natural forested state. The track as we know it today measures 4.574 kilometres. The Porsche Experience Centre Hockenheimring opened its doors in 2018. It includes a separate 2.7-kilometre handling track and an off-road circuit.
