Sustainability and performance form a complete package at Porsche. The Taycan electric sports car and the fully electric Macan offer superior driving dynamics.

Taycan: the sports car re-imagined with sustainability in mind

In 2019, the Taycan electric sports car was the first series-production car to come with a system voltage of 800 volts. This technology ensures sustained high power output and significantly reduces charging time.

At the beginning of 2024, Porsche extensively modernised the Taycan. The electric sports car has improved in almost every aspect compared to its predecessor. The current models have more power, longer range, accelerate faster and charge in less time with greater stability. All Taycan versions now feature an even more extensive standard equipment list and come with the latest generation of the Porsche Driver Experience.

The simultaneous improvement in performance and efficiency is based on a number of factors: an advanced powertrain with a new rear-axle motor with up to 80 kW more power for all models, a modified pulse inverter with optimised software, higher capacity batteries, a revised thermal management system, a next-generation heat pump and a modified recuperation and all-wheel-drive strategy. Charging at 800-volt DC charging stations is now possible at up to 320 kW.

The Taycan model family has never been as big as it is now: with three body variants (sports sedan, Cross Turismo, Sport Turismo), all-wheel and rear-wheel drive, and various power levels of the Porsche E-Performance motors ranging from 300 to 760 kW, there are now 16 versions to choose from.

Macan: the first fully electric SUV from Porsche

Ten years after its launch, the Porsche Macan entered its second model generation in 2024 – in fully electric form. Through its progressive, timeless design, characteristic Porsche performance, long-distance range and its real everyday usability, the new Macan aims to completely fulfil the requirements of Porsche customers who wish to drive an SUV.

There are currently four models to choose from, covering a broad power spectrum with drive systems producing up to 470 kW. Sports-car-like performance figures are matched by high-performance fast charging at up to 270 kW and a range of up to 641 km in the WLTP.

Porsche combines its design DNA with aerodynamics engineered to optimise range and consumption: with a Cdvalue of 0.25, the Macan is one of the most streamlined SUVs on the market. As a technological pioneer, it is also packed with innovations such as a head-up display with augmented reality technology.

The My Porsche app

The My Porsche app and the Porsche Connect services (available on a country-specific basis), make it convenient to operate various vehicle functions remotely. The app provides real-time information on the location and availability of charging stations, and on the price of a charging session.

The functions of the My Porsche app at a glance:

  • Charging planning and charging station search: route and charging planning in the app. Available charging options along the route or at the destination can be displayed

  • Charging process: start and stop remotely

  • Identification at the charging station: by scanning the QR code or directly in the app

  • Price display: detailed according to charging tariff

  • Monthly invoice: Porsche Charging Service Plus and Porsche Wallbox as pdf files

The E-Control service is also available via the My Porsche app, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and the My Porsche Portal. This offers other useful functions. For example, drivers can call up current information about the state of charge (SoC), the current charging rate and the electric range of the car. They can also set up to five timers, which can be used to preset both the desired state of charge on departure and the interior temperature preferred.

Porsche Charging Planner

The Porsche Charging Planner (availability depending on country) offers three major advantages:

  • It combines navigation and charging planning: although it can be used as easily and quickly as conventional route planning, it offers Porsche customers additional intelligence and makes driving the Taycan and Macan even more effortless.

  • As a fully integrated solution, the Porsche Charging Planner can also be operated via the My Porsche app. This allows users to plan a route from the comfort of their home.

  • Vehicle and navigation are closely interconnected. The Porsche Charging Planner uses actual consumption values and automatically conditions the battery for optimal charging performance. Users can adjust their personal settings and enter preferred charging stops, for example.
