And the Formula E World Champion is driving Porsche again: on 21 July in London, Pascal Wehrlein won the second major title for the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric. The German succeeds British driver Jake Dennis from the Andretti customer team, who achieved the feat in the same car in 2023, as champion. New records in Formula E mark the high point for Porsche in formula racing for the time being – 40 years after the TAG Turbo engine designed by Porsche became the benchmark in Formula 1.

António Félix da Costa finished second in a dramatic race for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team at the ABB FIA Formula E season opener in São Paulo. The Portuguese started the race from fifth place and fought for a podium finish for much of the race. After the second of two red flags, a four-lap sprint to the line saw da Costa pushing hard for the lead but ultimately he ran out of opportunities to take win. He also scored a championship point for fastest lap.

At the Portland International Raceway in America's northwest, he netted his third victory in a row. With four wins this season, da Costa now has more victories than any other driver. Moreover, he narrowly missed out on pole position by a mere 0.025 seconds and qualified second. With seven race wins, the Porsche 99X Electric is the most successful Formula E single-seater of the year.
António Félix da Costa is the hero of the hour in Formula E; off the back of winning Porsche's home race in Berlin and again recently in Shanghai, he has followed up with another top finish in the first race of the Portland double-header. On Saturday, he drove his Porsche 99X Electric to victory, notching up the sixth win of the season for the innovative electric racing car developed in Weissach.
